| Welcome to False Springs! The year is 1895, in New Mexico and the way of the outlaw is on the decline. With the Civil War ended a few decades earlier, lawlessness has no place in polite society. Outlaws are starting to exist only in dime store novels. In False Springs, all is peaceful save for the local feud between the Gaines and the Baxters. The Gaines family have just come to the Springs, hoping to hire new blood and revolutionize the whole town with their promises of new jobs and a brighter tomorrow. The Baxters will do anything to stop the Gaines' from taking over the town they've had control over for decades. Then there is The Deadshot Gang. On the run from the law, the gang has set up shop just outside the town, masquerading as poor folk down on their luck following a major factory closure. They can’t help seeing the local drama as a prime opportunity to make a little money by playing both sides. With the rumor of hidden gold on the line, they will do whatever it takes to land their next big score. |

Please keep IC and OOC separate. There will not be any god modding of characters. Communication is key. There will be no harrassment tolerated. Please disable anonymous commenting to avoid drama. This will be a fairly open minded game, and we ask that everyone be open minded as well. This game will be set in the 1800s, and thus certain things will be kept in mind. There won't be any instagram posts, or playlists to post. Most this game will be based on threading and journaling. If that isn't your thing, no harm done. Please come into this game wanting to write. This game will have mature themes, most of them violence and sexuality. No one under 18 permitted.
Journals can be ic or ooc. Put your character's name in their name field, so people can realize who is who. This mod isn't focused on people's layouts or their icons too much so feel free to be creative. Despite the setting, diversity is welcome and appreciated. Backdate your entries, including your bio/ooc entry, and your ic communications entry. Anything that is triggering, or above a pg-13 rating needs to have a warning in front of it. We're not going to dictate pb choices, but keep in mind the time period and the fact that the majority of people didn't have bright orange hair and a lot of tattoos. They don't have to be period era icons, but they should at least somewhat fit the time period. There is a current character limit of three characters per player. One person can't have two gang members, or two members of the same family. However one could have three town characters as long as they don't all interact too much. One person can however have one gang member, one family member and one townsperson. If anyone needs an hiatus, please just leave a message in our dropbox. Hiatuses last for as long as a person needs, but if you're gone for more than a month and don't respond to any messages from the mods, then the character will be removed from the game and that position be open up again for grabs. In character actions have in character consequences. Anything that has a major impact to the story has to be run by everyone. The gang can't just come in and rob a bank, without talking to the people who might play someone who works in the bank. |

Once accepted, please have an introduction up in the OOC or Storyline comms. Try to reply to anyone who replies to you. Keep your friends list up to date. Activity checks will be at the end of the money. Each character has to have a total of two instances of activity. This can be a thread (with at least 3 replies per character - you won't be penalized for having someone else drop a thread) or a journal entry (narratives). One liners don't count. Posts communicating to others also counts if there are at least 20 comments total.
Please drop off all activity here. |
| FAQ |
How does journaling/posting in this game work? Journaling can work several ways. Characters are encouraged to have an ic communication post in their journal where people can leave letters for each other (like they would have a backdated entry for texts/spam) or even call each other on the new telephones that are going around. What do we need to know about the Deadshot Gang? Ultimately the history of the Deadshot Gang should be decided by the people who are playing characters in the gang. They're a tough group of outlaws, from several states away. They've been on the run most of their life. They take money from anyone. The poor, the wealthy, banks, trains and anything in between. They're looking for a big score so that they can move south of the border and finally find a real place where they can live without fear from the law. Everything else about the gang is up to the players. It should be a collaborate effort to work a cohesive narrative. |
